Diriyah Innaugural Race in 2019 Formula E Founder Agag, Felipe Massa former F1 driver & driver for Saudi Arabian Minister of Sport, and Andre Lotterer, German Formula E Driver
Starting in 2019, the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia has been sponsoring Formula-e competitions with great success! Of course they’re on the heels of the big dogs in motorsport, Formula-E who also race there.
To get there the FIA along with the Ministry of Sport had to create a space to race and the chosen space was in Diriyah, which is to the Northwest of Riyadh. The facilities that have been built both street and dedicated circuit are top class, and provide pure excitement with one of the fastest straights on the F1 calendar.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to racing is evident, and they’re not supporting Formula-E for ratings. The most luxurious, and in our opinion the best made EV known as the “Lucid Air” has as its major investor, Saudi’s Public Investment Fund whose commitment to the brand will pay huge dividends one day we feel. The PIF’s commitment translates to more than capital, the Saudis have quite a large facility to manufacture Lucid Automobiles right there in the Kingdom.
